Lech, Zürs and St. Christoph are one of the best loved winter sports resorts in the world. Boasting a vast skiing domain that lies between 1400 and 2450 metres altitude here guests can literally breathe the quality and enjoy a resort frequented by Royalty and high society year after year. The villages themselves are easy to get around, full of international flavour and only 4 km apart, linked by a regular bus service. The Arlberg Ski Circus covers the resorts of Lech, Zürs, Zug, Stuben, St. Anton, Sonnenkopf and St. Christoph.

Lech is more about the smart bars in hotels than dancing on tables in ski boots. With this in mind there are some fantastic places to head for a glass of wine or three.

Hotel Montana
The sun terrace at the Hotel Montana is just to the side of the piste, so it’s great for people watching. They serve fantastic food that you can enjoy whilst taking in the panoramic views.

Down in the resort centre there are a few bars that open out onto the river. The Tannbergerhof has a daily open-air party and claims to serve the best Glühwein in the world!

The Burg Hotel
If you’re looking for somewhere more upmarket, head to The Burg Hotel. It’s is a great umbrella bar just off the slopes and features a fantastic and lively bar where the Champagne is always flowing!

Eating out

Lech offers some fantastic restaurants, all serving a mixture of Tyrolean classics and modern cuisine. There are over 50 restaurants to choose from, with most located inside hotels.

The Madlochblick is a beautifully decorated hotel with a rustic restaurant and delicious local dishes Rudi’s offers the same but with very reasonable prices and a more down to earth atmosphere .

The Krone is well reported for its Austrian classics with a modern twist and contemporary surroundings. A similar theme can be found in the Post .

There always needs to be a good pizza restaurant in resort and Lech’s is the Enzo. Or if you fancy an excursion then the Rote Wand in Zug is a great night out for fondue and pancakes .

Lech is a great walkers resort with 29km of foot paths, one pretty routes leads along the river to Zug. The Tourist information has a map which is useful to pick up.

Sport Park
If you want to stay indoors then the Sport Park has a lot on offer including a gym, cycling, indoor tennis, badminton, volleyball and more. The children will love the ten pin bowling or maybe a go at the climbing wall!
Prices are varied but bowling is per lane/hour is €25, and climbing is just €5.

Finally if all you want to do is relax, the wellness area will be perfect! This includes Finnish panorama sauna, steam room, infrared cabin, massage room and relaxation area.

Toboggan Run.
In the evening the floodlit toboggan run is a must! This starts from Oberlech and runs down to the town on a 1.2km route which is open from 9am to 10pm. Toboggans can be hired for €5 for one day or €27 for six days.

Sleigh Rides.
A sleigh ride epitomises a wonderful winter holiday in Austria. You can take a ride through the day or night with prices starting from €50, which will take you from the Lech to Zug church. If you would like to take a look around Zug then the driver will wait for half an hour for €20

Children are well looked after in Lech with plenty of indoor and outdoor activities to enjoy.

In the evening the floodlit toboggan run is a must! Starting in Oberlech, it runs right down to the town on a 1.2km route and is open from 9am to 10pm daily. Toboggans can be hired for €5 for one day or €27 for six days.

Ice Hockey
For a great family outing, head over to neighbouring Zug to watch a professional ice hockey game in the brand new stadium. Tickets range in price depending on the game so check the website for the latest details. You can also get on the ice yourself at just €2.50 for children, €4 for youths or €6 for adults.

If the kids are little too young to strap on a pair of skis, yet they still want to get out in the snow, then there are excellent childcare options available.

There is a ski play session available for children from 2 to 3 years where your little ones are picked up by the snow train and taken to the slopes for snowman building, and various activities and games. Lunch can be included at an extra cost.

Fun and Snow
The Fun and Snow company run a childcare service with all sorts of outdoor fun and games including tobogganing and riding Zipflbobs (unique sleds with steering handles). Babysitting services are also available.
