Ask anyone on the Interactive Resorts sales floor what the best thing about working here is, and chances are the first answer you’ll hear is ‘the people’. We’ve all put a shift or two in among the snowy slopes of the Alps and share a mutual passion for all things ski and snowboard . It all makes for a very close, tight-knit team, and everybody shares common interests, memories and values.

Winter at IR

Throughout the winter ski season we’re hard at it, on the phone to clients discussing requirements, chalets, resorts, travel plans and all the rest of it, but a year at Interactive Resorts is always punctuated with some fantastic trips, nights out, fundays and general shenanigans.

One of the perks of the job for us are familiarisation trips (‘fams’ for short,) when we’re sent out to the Alps to sample the services of the tour operators and chalet companies we sell for. Obviously there’s a serious side to them — the whole point is to learn more about each resort and see chalets for yourself — but everybody knows it’s great to be able to get out of the office and hit the hill for a few days as well. All work and no play makes us dull boys and girls.

Fams typically get offered in December and March, and this year we had some absolutely superb work trips. Anna and AJ were sent to the No.14 in Verbier to stay in 6* luxury with one of our chalet companies there, and came back saying it was so good that no other chalet holiday could ever come close! Jonny was sent to the Chalet Quezac to see another 6* chalet in Tignes and by all accounts he was treated like a rockstar. Thomas sampled the services of one of our top operators in Meribel and came back with glowing reviews.

The End-of-Season Ski Trip

Over the years, we’ve enjoyed amazing end-of-season trips to top ski resorts including Verbier, Val d’Isère and Ischgl, with amazing spring snow and uproarious après ski! This year we bundled into a plane and flew to the heady heights of Val Thorens — courtesy of Club Med — and enjoyed a wonderful few days of warm sunshine, groomed slopes and delicious food. After working so hard all winter long and sending so many clients on snowy ski holidays, it’s amazing to kick back and enjoy a little hill-time before the season closes.

The Interactive Resorts Christmas Party

This is another big one in the calendar for us here at IR. Every year, the top brass put their thinking caps on and come up with a recipe of festive fun for everyone. We’ve had rollerskating 80’s nights, trips to the West End in an old Routemaster bus, live theatre and fun-filled nights at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland — way to kick Christmas off in style!

Summer at IR

Summers see us finishing work and heading to one or two of our local watering holes. With the Durrel, the Mitre and the Ship all within close reach, we’re spoiled for choice. We play football and rounders with a few of the other ski companies in the area and some of the boys head off to far flung parts of London on cycle tours in the evenings. The ladies like to reserve tables together in posh restaurants, but it rarely stays classy for long. So basically it all boils down to one thing: work hard, play hard. We do have a great time working at Interactive Resorts, and everybody knows we’re onto a winner.
