The International Freeski Film Festival has been running for the past four years, and returns on Thursday 9th November to the Clapham Grand nightclub in south London.

Sponsored by the expert 3D mappers FATMAP, this year’s event will showcase some of the latest and greatest ski and snowboard flicks ahead of the winter 2017/18 season. Attendees will be the first to catch some of the season’s newest movies on the big screen, with plenty of juicy raffle prizes up for grabs.

There’ll be filmmakers and athletes presenting their latest works live on stage, plus a whole host of ski and snowboard brand representatives in attendance. The Alpine-themed after-party with après ski DJs, shot-skis and beer pong makes this one of the UK’s most exciting pre-season events to get involved in.

We’ve put together a little run-down of some of the brand new ski and snowboard flicks you’ll be treated to on the night, below. And, to win a pair of tickets to the International Freeski Film Festival for yourself and a friend, check out our latest competition.

Wishes and Reality by Midiafilm

Wishes and Reality is as much about showcasing the riders’ skills as it is about the spectacular mountain scenery. The movie takes in sweeping descents and soaring valley views across Italy’s Cima Tosa peak, the Japanese resort of Hokkaido, the Silvretta Montafon in Austria and Vorkuta in Russia — just north of the Arctic Circle.

Highlights include spectacular hikes deep into back-country, 1,000-metre descents down sheer mountainsides and, of course, the odd stack here and there for good measure. Wishes and Reality features the talents of pros like Felix Wiemers and Neil Williman, and you can check out the teaser here.

Dick Moves by Next Generation Media

The fifth and latest of Norway-based Next Generation Media’s full-length ski flicks, Dick Moves features boundary-pushing street and terrain park skiing from the likes of Emil Larsen, Steffen Olsen and Elias Kvarekvaal. The movie also shines a light on the cinematography skills of Ola Sollie, Jens Øvregård, Edward Knai and Hans Haug.

The movie takes viewers from the snowy stairways of Oslo to the soaring peaks of Verbier, with the riders exhibiting phenomenal ski skills and a wonderful camaraderie — pushing themselves further and further with powerful powder turns and huge air-time. Check out the official teaser here. Early-bird tickets for the International Freeski Film Festival 2017 have now sold out, but final release tickets are still on sale at £14.
