GROUP SKI HOLIDAY
Group Suggestions
Booking a ski holiday can be difficult especially when you have a mixed group wanting different things out of their holiday. Here is a list of the top things to consider when choosing which resort is right for your group:
Varied ski area
It is likely that you will have a group of mixed abilities in which case you will want to go to a resort with varied slopes to suit everyone.
Accessibility to the slopes and town
The location of your accommodation in relation to the slopes and town is an important factor especially if you are a mixed group who will be coming back and forth throughout the day.
Après/nightlife
For some groups, the après ski and nightlife can be just as important as the skiing so it is necessary that you choose a lively resort with a selection of bars/clubs.
Non-skiing activities
If there is a non skier in the group or perhaps you are not looking to ski all day then you will want to choose a resort where there are things to do other than ski.
We have listed below a selection of resorts great for groups:
Val d’Isere is one of the most popular resorts in Europe and has a range of accommodation from self catering apartments to high end hotels. Val d’Isere links with Tignes and offers high quality snow sure skiing for all abilities with over 300km of piste. Its famous après ski is some of the best in Europe making it an ideal destination for groups looking to party.
Meribel is one of France’s most attractive and popular resorts with British skiers. The resort sits in the centre of the Three Valleys ski domain offering skiing for all abilities. Meribel is an excellent all round resort with plenty of good shops, bars and restaurants. For any non-skiers in the group, Meribel is home to the fantastic Olympic Parc and offers a range of outdoor activities including husky sledging, skidooing and ice climbing.
Les Deux Alpes is largely underrated but is soon becoming one of the most popular resorts. Sitting in the Southern Alps, the resort offers Glacial skiing for all abilities and a lively atmosphere with excellent après ski and nightlife scene spread across its main street.
Arguably the best resort in Austria, St Anton is located in the Arlberg area and boasts a highly efficient lift system and over 305km of piste. The traditional and attractive town wasn’t built with skiers convenience in mind with very little ski in/ski out accommodation but the two main lift stations at each end of the resort means that you are never too far to get to and from the slopes. St Anton’s lively resort centre has a large selection of shops, bars and restaurant and offers world class après ski and nightlife.
